How the record
kept falling.
Every performance that lowered the Tely 10 course record. Paul McCloy’s 47:04 stood for 41 years before Andrew Davies broke it in 2026. Most pre-2000 years have winners-only coverage, but a course record is always set by a winner, so the progression is complete for every held running.

The all-time
top ten.
One simple score for every Tely 10 runner: points for wins, podiums and top-10 finishes, one point per finish — plus a bonus for truly fast times. Men and women are scored separately, and every placing shown here is within that runner’s gender division.
Exact scoring: Tely Score = 10 × wins + 5 × finishes in 2nd–3rd + 2 × finishes in 4th–10th + 1 × known finish + 5 × elite marks (sub-50:00 for men, sub-60:00 for women). Placement buckets are mutually exclusive and use gender-division place, not overall place. Ties break by most wins, then fastest personal best, then most finishes. Pre-2000 coverage is mostly winners only, so early legends cannot receive non-winning placement points where full fields are unavailable.

One year.
A different runner.
The biggest single year-over-year drops in finish time in the archive. For every runner with a valid time in back-to-back calendar years, each consecutive pair was compared and their largest improvement kept. Times are chip times where the source published them, otherwise gun times.
Drawn from the 28 full-result years (1978, 1983 and 2000–2026). Each runner appears once, with their single biggest drop; identical names are treated as one profile, as elsewhere in the archive. Click a name for the full profile.
The honor roll.
Every sub-50:00 men’s and sub-60:00 women’s performance in the archive. Drawn from the 28 full-result years plus winning performances from winners-only years; pre-2000 non-winning performances are unavailable, so early depth is undercounted. Times as published: chip where available, otherwise gun.

The road’s most
familiar faces.
The 1922–2025 baseline comes from the official NLAA list. A 2026 completion is added only when a Race Roster name matches after case, punctuation and whitespace normalization; initials, nicknames and name changes can still split one person into more than one identity.

Year after year
after year.
The longest runs of consecutive Tely 10 finishes. Because most pre-2000 years have winners-only coverage, early-era streaks may be undercounted — a year missing from the archive counts as a break even if the runner was there. The cancelled 2020 race breaks every streak: nobody could finish that year.

What we know.
What we don’t.
Accuracy comes before completeness. Compiled September 29, 2026 from publicly available NLAA materials and Race Roster.
Coverage
70,630 archived finisher rows across 28 full-result years: 1978, 1983 and 2000–2026, excluding the cancelled 2020 in-person race. All 4,147 finishers from Race Roster’s 2026 10 Mile Run are embedded. The remaining historical years contain verified winners only.
Identity matching
Five corroborated alias groups are merged, including Kate Vaughan / Kate Vaughan-Bazeley / Kate Bazeley. Other names are grouped only after case, whitespace and punctuation normalization. Paul G Mccloy (2003) remains separate from Paul McCloy because the identity is uncertain.
Running divisions
This archive covers running results only: wheelchair results are excluded everywhere, including search, totals, profiles, leaderboards, Tely Scores and charts. Results published without a gender are kept as unknown-gender running entries, and gender is never inferred from names. One impossible 36:15 row from 2000 remains excluded from rankings and display.
Historical winner profiles
Verified winners-only years now feed runner profiles and scoring. This restores Paul McCloy’s five men’s titles — 1980, 1985, 1992, 1993 and 1996 — alongside his full-result appearances.
